FIELD APPLICATION

When the Channel Goes Quiet

This probe is used where machinery monitoring depends on precise non-contact shaft displacement measurement. Typical duties include radial vibration and axial-position measurements on rotating machinery when the mechanical mounting arrangement and target geometry match the 3300 XL 8 mm system.

A damaged probe, unstable gap, connector problem or incorrect replacement can interrupt the measurement loop. On machinery protected by vibration or position channels, loss of a valid channel can complicate condition assessment and may contribute to a controlled shutdown or extended maintenance window.

01 / Vibration Channel
Non-contact shaft motion measurement within the matched loop.

02 / Position Channel
Suitable for axial-position duties when the target and mounting arrangement are engineered accordingly.

03 / Maintenance Replacement
The complete ordering code should be matched before accepting a replacement.

BUYER-FOCUSED FAQ

Five Questions Worth Checking

How can I avoid ordering the right probe family but the wrong mechanical version?

Match the complete 330104-08-13-10-01-05 code, including the 80 mm unthreaded section, 130 mm case, 1.0 m length and option blocks.

Will this probe work with an existing 3300 XL channel?

It must be paired with the compatible 3300 XL 8 mm Proximitor Sensor and the correct system-length arrangement. Check any extension cable before replacement.

What makes the complete ordering code important during an urgent shutdown?

Probe length, mounting geometry, connector arrangement and approval option can affect physical installation and system compatibility; the family number alone is not enough.

What signal performance should I expect from a correctly matched loop?

The 3300 XL 8 mm system has a nominal 7.87 V/mm incremental scale factor, a 2.0 mm linear range and 0–10 kHz frequency response.

Which details should I send when requesting a replacement quotation?

Send Part Number, Quantity, Destination, Required Date and Machine/System. A photo of the installed probe label is also useful when the ordering code is difficult to read.
