Five questions that matter before replacement
01. Why does the complete 330103-00-12-10-12-05 code matter when the 3300 XL 8 mm probe family looks interchangeable?
Because the final configuration determines the metric thread, case length, probe length, cable construction, connector arrangement and approval option. A probe from the same family with a different configuration may not preserve the mechanical or electrical arrangement already installed on the machine.
02. Can the 1.0 m version be treated as a normal probe plus a separate extension cable?
No. The 1.0 m configuration is a probe-only system length, and the manufacturer specifies that one-meter systems do not use an extension cable. Adding an unplanned extension would change the intended system arrangement.
03. What is the practical reason for the FluidLoc option on this particular replacement?
FluidLoc construction is intended to prevent oil and other liquids from migrating through the interior of the cable. This makes the cable choice particularly relevant when the probe lead passes through an environment where fluid migration could compromise the installation.
04. What measurement conditions should be checked before installing this probe?
The target geometry, shaft diameter, probe gap, cable routing and system configuration should be checked together. The nominal radial gap is about 1.27 mm, while the linear range is 0.25 to 2.3 mm. Mechanical clearance and minimum cable bend radius also need to be maintained.
05. What happens if the replacement has the same 8 mm probe family but a different approval suffix?
The approval designation is part of the ordered configuration. This model uses option 05 for CSA, ATEX and IECEx approvals. In an installation where those approvals are required, substituting a probe with a different approval configuration can create a compliance issue even when the physical probe appears similar.
