Compact sensing for restricted machine geometry
The Bently Nevada 330910-00-07-05-02-05 belongs to the 3300 NSv proximity probe family. The NSv design is intended for machinery locations where the physical envelope around the sensing point makes a conventional 3300 or 3300 XL 5 mm or 8 mm arrangement difficult to install.
The system uses non-contact eddy-current measurement to convert the relative position of a conductive machine target into an electrical signal. This makes the NSv platform suitable for radial vibration, radial position, axial position, tachometer, zero-speed and phase-reference measurements.
Its enhanced side-view characteristics and small-target capability make it particularly useful around compact rotating assemblies, including compressor and other fluid-film bearing machinery.

Why the NSv geometry matters
01 — Restricted-view installation
The NSv architecture is intended for locations where counterbore, side-view or rear-view restrictions limit the use of standard proximity transducers.
02 — Small-target measurement
The system is suited to radial vibration measurements on shafts smaller than 51 mm and axial position measurements on flat targets smaller than 15 mm.
03 — Stable signal architecture
The 3300 XL NSv system uses an average scale factor of 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil), with a 1.5 mm linear range under specified operating conditions.
04 — Mechanical robustness

Can 330910-00-07-05-02-05 solve a clearance problem that prevents a conventional 8 mm probe installation?
That is one of the principal reasons for choosing the 3300 XL NSv family. Its side-view characteristics are intended for locations where counterbore, side-view or rear-view restrictions make conventional 3300 and 3300 XL 5/8 mm arrangements difficult to install.
Is 330910-00-07-05-02-05 appropriate when the monitored shaft is relatively small?
The NSv system is specifically suited to small-target applications. Bently Nevada specifies radial vibration applications on shafts smaller than 51 mm and axial-position applications on flat targets smaller than 15 mm, while target geometry still needs to be checked for scale-factor effects.
What should be checked if 330910-00-07-05-02-05 is being used to replace an older 3300 RAM probe?
The NSv probe and extension cable are mechanically and electrically compatible with previous 3300 RAM probe and extension-cable arrangements. The upgrade still requires confirmation of the complete NSv transducer configuration, including the matching Proximitor Sensor and installation geometry.
