TRICONEX 4352B Tricon Communication Module

The TRICONEX 4352B is a Tricon Communication Module (TCM) for Tricon safety and control systems. It provides communication between the Tricon controller and external systems through four serial communication ports and two fiber-optic Ethernet ports.

The 4352B belongs to the later-generation TCM family used with Tricon system versions 10.3 through 11.x. Its fiber-optic network interface is intended for installations where electrical isolation and longer communication distances are important.

The 4352B uses fiber-optic Ethernet rather than copper Ethernet, making it suitable for communication architectures requiring electrical isolation between network segments.

The TCM family supports Tricon communication functions together with protocols such as Modbus, Modbus TCP, TCP/IP, SNTP, peer-to-peer communication and Triconex time synchronization.

Tricon documentation describes replacement of a faulty TCM while the controller remains online. The TCM itself is not a hot-spare module, so compatibility and slot planning remain important.

The Tricon TCM family includes copper and fiber communication variants. Within the later-generation group, 4351B and 4352B provide the core TCM functions with different network media, while 4353 and 4354 extend the family with additional communication capabilities.

For replacement planning, the existing Tricon system generation, logical slot assignment, network medium and communication architecture should all be checked before selecting a TCM. The 4352B is specifically the fiber-optic Ethernet member of this group.

The 4352B is intended for Tricon communication architectures where controller data must be exchanged with external control, supervisory or field communication systems.
