Control Execution, I/O Coordination and Network Resilience
CC-PCNT03 is a conformally coated C300 controller for Honeywell Experion environments. It combines deterministic strategy execution, controller-to-controller communication and field I/O coordination in the compact Series C architecture.
PURCHASING FOCUS Match the complete article code, installed architecture and required accessories before release.
The Control Execution Environment schedules Control Modules and Sequential Control Modules. Supported execution periods allow fast regulatory control and slower supervisory strategies to coexist in one controller.
02
Control engineering
Control Builder supplies the graphical engineering environment for function-block strategies, equipment logic, sequences, peer connections and controller assignment.
03
Communication architecture
Built-in Fault Tolerant Ethernet carries server, station and peer-controller traffic. Communication modules for supported field networks exchange process values through the controller architecture.
04
I/O integration
Two controller I/O links connect supported Series C I/O and eligible remote I/O arrangements. Link type, speed, cable path and installed release must be matched before replacement.
05
Redundancy design
Controller redundancy uses two compatible controller modules, two matching IOTAs and the dedicated redundancy cable. The two controllers must support the same software and firmware strategy.
06
Memory retention
An optional rechargeable memory-backup arrangement supports RAM retention during loss of system power. Battery condition, cable type and installed charger assembly should be checked during maintenance planning.
07
Release planning
CC-PCNT03 supports a broad installed Experion range. CC-PCNT05 is the newer platform option for R520 and later, but it cannot form a redundant pair with CC-PCNT03.
08
Ordering checkpoint
Confirm the exact article code, Experion release, controller firmware, IOTA code, redundancy status, network position, I/O link use and memory-backup hardware before scheduling a shutdown.

SELECTION POINT
CC-PCNT02
Earlier C300 controller
CC-PCNT03 follows this controller in supported installed environments.
CC-PCNT03
Selected C300 controller
Broad earlier-release compatibility, 16 MB program memory and 50 ms minimum configured rate.
CC-PCNT05
Newer C300 V5 controller
Higher capacity and enhanced features for R520 and later; not pair-compatible with CC-PCNT03.
8C-TCNTA1
Controller IOTA
Carries passive FTE, address, I/O-link and backup connections for the controller.

Quality FocusArticle-code checks and practical order tracking help reduce procurement risk.
Delivery CommitmentEfficient global handling supports faster recovery from unplanned downtime.
Can CC-PCNT03 replace an installed CC-PCNT02 without changing the control architecture?
CC-PCNT03 follows CC-PCNT02 as the replacement controller for supported installations, but the installed Experion release, firmware strategy and IOTA condition should be checked before shutdown work.
Can CC-PCNT03 and CC-PCNT05 operate as one redundant controller pair?
No. CC-PCNT05 supports a newer platform range and is not interoperable with CC-PCNT03 as the other half of a redundant pair. Use two compatible controller versions.
What should be matched before ordering CC-PCNT03 for a redundant node?
Match the exact controller model, supported Experion release, firmware level, companion controller, C300 IOTA and the 51305980-836 redundancy cable arrangement.
Does CC-PCNT03 include its C300 IOTA and redundancy cable?
No assumption should be made. The controller, 8C-TCNTA1 IOTA, memory-backup parts and redundancy cable are separate ordering elements unless a quotation explicitly bundles them.
Which release detail matters most when purchasing CC-PCNT03?
The current Experion release and planned upgrade path are decisive. CC-PCNT03 spans earlier releases, while the newer CC-PCNT05 begins with R520 and later.
