Variable Speed AC Drive / Industrial Motor Control
1305-AA03A
Bulletin 1305 Adjustable Frequency AC Drive
The 1305-AA03A is a compact adjustable-frequency AC drive designed for variable-speed control of three-phase AC induction motors. Its 200–230 V class and 3.0 A output rating make it a practical choice for smaller motor-control applications where programmable speed control, protection functions and flexible operator interfaces are required.

01 / TECHNICAL CORE
Built for controlled
motor operation. The Bulletin 1305 architecture combines programmable drive control with selectable operating parameters, current limiting, PWM output and operator-interface options. The compact AA03A frame belongs to the 200–230 V portion of the 1305 family.
|
|
|
PROGRAMMABLE CONTROL
Adjustable frequency, acceleration/deceleration and drive parameters support application-specific motor control.
|
CURRENT LIMITING
Current limiting is programmable to coordinate drive operation with motor protection requirements.
|
PWM / IGBT
Sine-weighted PWM and an IGBT intelligent power module form the drive's power-conversion stage.
|
OPERATOR OPTIONS
The 1305 family supports Human Interface Module options including analog and digital speed-control variants.
|
|
02 / SERIES POSITION
Choose the right
1305 frame. 1305-AA03A belongs to the 200–230 V AA group. Within the same family, the catalog range scales motor capacity and output current for different small-motor requirements. |

03 / APPLICATION LOGIC
Where the AA03A
makes sense. Small three-phase motor speed control
Suitable when a 0.55 kW / 0.75 HP motor requires adjustable-speed operation within the drive's voltage and current ratings. Replacement of an existing 1305 unit
Replacement selection should verify input configuration, motor full-load current, enclosure requirements, installed interface options, firmware/series considerations and control wiring before ordering. Typical fault / replacement decision
If an installed drive shows recurring overcurrent, unstable motor operation, loss of control response or power-stage failure, replacing the drive should be preceded by checking motor current, wiring, load condition, programmed parameters and cooling conditions. |
SELECTION CHECK
Before you replace it
Motor FLA ≤ drive output-current rating
Input voltage matches the installed power system
Motor and load behavior are checked
Existing HIM / control-interface requirements are confirmed
Installation environment and enclosure requirements are compatible

04 / BUYER QUESTIONS
Before placing
the order. These questions focus on replacement risk, application matching and purchasing decisions rather than basic nameplate facts.
|
Can 1305-AA03A replace another 1305 drive with the same motor rating?
It can be considered when the replacement matches the required voltage class, motor current, control arrangement, enclosure conditions and installed options. A matching HP value alone is not sufficient for a replacement decision.
Why would 1305-AA03A be selected instead of 1305-AA02A?
The AA03A provides a 3.0 A output rating and 0.55 kW / 0.75 HP motor rating, compared with 2.3 A and 0.37 kW / 0.5 HP for AA02A. The actual motor full-load current should remain within the selected drive rating.
What should be checked when replacing 1305-AA03A after an overcurrent trip?
Check motor and cable condition, load behavior, programmed acceleration/deceleration, motor current and drive parameters. Replacing the drive without addressing the cause of excessive current can lead to a repeated fault.
Does 1305-AA03A support applications requiring a wide adjustable speed range?
The 1305 platform provides a programmable output-frequency range up to 400 Hz. Actual usable motor speed must still be determined from motor characteristics, mechanical limits, load requirements and the application's safe operating range.
What details should be confirmed before ordering a replacement 1305-AA03A?
Confirm the complete catalog number, motor rating and full-load current, input voltage, existing operator interface, control method, physical installation conditions and the required delivery configuration. Providing the existing drive label or machine details helps reduce replacement risk.
