The control bus connection uses a coaxial cable with Model YCB146 and a T-type connector. When the next station is not used, a terminator is connected at the end of the bus.
COMPATIBILITY
VF702 ↔ VF701
The V net interface of VF702 is compatible with VF701. Stations using VF701 and VF702 can therefore be mixed on the same control bus. Domain-number and station-number settings are performed in the same manner as with VF701.

01 · Can VF702 be installed in a conventional PCI slot when replacing an older interface card?
No. VF702 is designed for PCI Express and cannot be installed in a conventional PCI slot. It uses PCI Express CEM Specification 1.0a with x1, 2.5 GT/s signaling and can be installed in PCI Express slots from x1 through x16. This slot distinction should be checked before ordering a replacement.
02 · Can VF702 work on the same control bus as VF701-installed stations?
Yes. Yokogawa specifies the V net interface of VF702 as compatible with VF701, allowing VF701-installed and VF702-installed stations to be mixed on the same control bus. Domain-number and station-number settings follow the same method used for VF701.
03 · What should be checked before ordering VF702 for a V net connection?
The computer should provide a suitable PCI Express slot, and the control-bus installation should use the specified coaxial connection arrangement with YCB146 and a T-type connector. The V net cable run should also remain within the specified maximum distance of 185 m when using 10BASE-2 cable.
04 · What does the VF702 RCV/SND indication help confirm during troubleshooting?
VF702 provides RCV and SND lamps for BUS 1 and BUS 2. The RCV lamp lights when the card detects signals on the control bus, while the SND lamp lights when the card sends signals to the control bus. These indicators can help distinguish between receive-side and send-side activity during system checks.
05 · Is VF702 appropriate for a system using a later software release than R3.05?
Yokogawa specifies VF702 for use in R3.05 or later. For an existing system, the exact control-system configuration, installed interface arrangement and required network hardware should still be checked before replacing a card, particularly when upgrading an older station.
