Key purchasing considerations for replacement, installation and system compatibility.
01 · Can SC42-EP15 replace another SC42 sensor with a different cell constant?
SC42-EP15 has a nominal cell constant of 1 cm⁻¹. A replacement should therefore be checked against the analyzer configuration and the original sensor's cell constant before installation. A different cell constant changes the conductivity scaling and is not a direct like-for-like substitution simply because the sensor belongs to the same SC42 family.
02 · Is SC42-EP15 suitable when the process temperature approaches 110°C?
The specified maximum temperature for SC42-EP15 is 110°C / 230°F at the stated operating conditions. The actual pressure-temperature combination must also remain within the applicable process limits; operation at the upper temperature limit should not be treated as unrestricted operation at every pressure condition.
03 · What should be checked when integrating SC42-EP15 with an existing conductivity analyzer?
The analyzer must support a 2-electrode conductivity sensor and the 1 cm⁻¹ cell constant. The built-in Pt1000 temperature element should also be compatible with the analyzer's temperature-compensation configuration. Cable and connector selection should match the installed Yokogawa sensor interface.
04 · Why would SC42-EP15 be selected instead of a longer insertion sensor?
The EP15 has a 100 mm immersion length and is designed as a convenient short insertion sensor. Its compact insertion arrangement can be useful for branch or tee mounting where installation convenience is an important consideration.
05 · How does SC42-EP15 compare with SC42-EP16 for a replacement order?
Both models use a 1 cm⁻¹ nominal cell constant, Pt1000 temperature element, 2-electrode measurement and a maximum temperature rating of 110°C. The key physical distinction is insertion length: SC42-EP15 is 100 mm, while SC42-EP16 is 65 mm. The installed fitting and required immersion depth should therefore be checked before selecting the replacement.
