Can SDV541-S33 replace another SDV541 variant when the existing field wiring uses a Yokogawa-specific cable?
The replacement should match the complete suffix and the installed connection arrangement. SDV541-S33 is associated with Yokogawa-specific signal-cable connections, while other SDV541 suffixes can use different interface arrangements. The terminal board, cable type and module suffix should therefore be checked together before substitution.

The SDV541 family supports connection arrangements using single or dual-redundant terminal blocks. Yokogawa's connection tables associate SDV541 with SED4D/SRM54D for single or dual-redundant arrangements and with SBD4D/SBM54D for corresponding configurations. A dual-redundant terminal block connects two adjacent I/O modules.

For connection to SBM54D, the applicable Yokogawa connection specification requires SDV541-S33 with style code S3 and firmware revision F1:1 and F2:1 or later.
