Terminal Arrangement
The F3YC16-0N uses an 18-point terminal arrangement with M3.5 screw terminals. Output points 1–8 are associated with COM1, while output points 9–16 are associated with COM2. This 8-point grouping is central to the module's load distribution design.
1–8 → COM1 | 9–16 → COM2
Module Consumption
Internal module consumption is specified at 380 mA from 5 V DC. No separate external power supply is required for the relay-output module itself.

Inductive Load Consideration
The module does not include an internal surge protector. When an inductive load such as a relay is connected, a suitable surge suppressor or diode should be installed on the load side so that the voltage at the module output terminal remains within its specified range.

Relay vs. Solid-State
F3YC16-0N uses relay contacts, while F3YA08-2N uses triac output. The selection therefore depends on the required switching technology as well as the load type and voltage range.
Point Density
F3YC16-0N doubles the output-point count of the 8-point relay variants while maintaining the 8-point/common grouping.
System Position
The module belongs to the FA-M3 output-module family and is intended to be installed as an I/O module within the corresponding controller architecture.

01 · Does F3YC16-0N provide enough channel density for an 8-point-per-common design?
Yes. F3YC16-0N provides 16 relay output points divided into two groups of eight, with COM1 serving points 1–8 and COM2 serving points 9–16. This makes the module particularly relevant when an application needs 16 relay outputs but can organize field loads in two common groups.
02 · Can F3YC16-0N switch both DC and AC loads?
Yes. The specified rated load voltage is 5–24 V DC or 100–240 V AC. The maximum load voltage is 125 V DC or 264 V AC. For resistive loads, the maximum load current is 2 A per point and 8 A per common, so the actual field load should be checked against these limits before replacement or commissioning.
03 · What should be checked when F3YC16-0N is replacing an existing relay-output module?
The key checks are point count, common grouping, field voltage, per-point current, common current, terminal arrangement, and the required output behavior when the CPU program stops. F3YC16-0N uses 18 terminals with M3.5 screws and groups eight outputs per common, so both wiring organization and load distribution should be verified before substitution.
04 · Is an external power supply required specifically for F3YC16-0N?
No separate external power supply is required for the module itself. Its specified dissipation current is 380 mA from the internal 5 V DC supply. The field-side load voltage is supplied by the connected load circuit and must remain within the specified rated and maximum load voltage ranges.
05 · If the F3YC16-0N is used with an inductive load, does the installation need additional suppression?
Yes. F3YC16-0N does not include a built-in surge protector. When an inductive load such as a relay is connected, a surge protector or diode should be installed across the load, close to the load, so that the voltage appearing at the module output terminal does not exceed the specified operating load-voltage range. This is an important replacement and commissioning check for inductive field devices.
