Industrial Serial Communication Interface
The ALR121-S01 is a serial communication module designed for Yokogawa field-control architectures, providing RS-422/RS-485 connectivity between the control system and external serial devices. Its communication architecture supports point-to-point RS-422 connections and multipoint RS-485 networks.

ALR121 is the RS-422/RS-485 member of the ALR serial communication family. Within Yokogawa control architectures, it provides the serial interface between the control-side node and compatible external subsystems.

Can ALR121-S01 be used when the existing network requires RS-485 multipoint communication?
Yes. ALR121 supports RS-485 multipoint connection, while RS-422 is used for point-to-point communication. This distinction is important when matching the module to the physical topology of the existing serial network.

Is ALR121-S01 suitable when the serial device is located far from the control node?
