With 24 analog inputs and 8 analog outputs, 5466-315 provides a concentrated analog interface for a simplex MicroNet installation. The architecture reduces the number of separate I/O module positions required for a large group of 4–20 mA process signals.

Existing 4–20 mA process loops
The module is appropriate where an installed MicroNet simplex application requires a concentrated interface for 4–20 mA analog signals. The 24 input channels allow a large number of process measurements to be handled through the high-density architecture.

Output-side maintenance
Eight 4–20 mA analog outputs provide the output side of the same module architecture. During troubleshooting, the maintenance team should compare channel assignments and field termination wiring before changing the module.

Suspected I/O module failure
If an installed 5466-315 is suspected of failure, compare the complete part number, module position, two 5501-376 FTMs, field connections and application channel assignment before ordering a spare. This helps distinguish a module problem from a field-loop or termination issue.

Woodward permits 5466-5026 to be used in place of 5466-315 when the application can accept the different anti-aliasing filter on analog input channels 23/24. The change is from 10 ms on 5466-315 to 5 ms on 5466-5026, so application engineering review is appropriate before substitution.

Is Woodward 5466-315 the correct choice for a simplex MicroNet installation using 4–20 mA loops?
It is the documented simplex high-density analog configuration with 24 × 4–20 mA inputs and 8 × 4–20 mA outputs. The installed controller arrangement, field termination modules and channel requirements should still be matched before ordering.

Can Woodward 5466-5026 be purchased as a substitute for 5466-315?
Woodward identifies 5466-5026 as a possible replacement for 5466-315 in simplex applications when the application can accept its different filtering on analog input channels 23/24. Those channels use a 5 ms anti-aliasing filter on 5466-5026 compared with 10 ms on 5466-315, so it should not be treated as an unconditional drop-in substitution.

Does Woodward 5466-315 require specific field termination hardware?
Yes. The 5466-315 simplex high-density analog arrangement uses two 5501-376 field termination modules. The installed FTM numbers and field wiring should be checked before a replacement is ordered.
