System Core

The 8120X Main Chassis functions as the central chassis platform for the Tricon CX safety system. Its architecture accommodates three Model 3009X Main Processor modules and four communication modules configured in two redundant pairs. For system expansion, the chassis connects to Model 8131X I/O Expansion Chassis through triplicated RS-485 bidirectional communication ports. The architecture is designed for high-availability process safety applications where redundant processing, communications and power distribution are important to system continuity. The chassis is powered by external redundant 24 VDC supplies and incorporates dedicated alarm contacts for system and program alarm conditions. |
