A precise role inside the SIMATIC ecosystem

The IM 155-6 PN ST is the PROFINET interface module at the head of a SIMATIC ET 200SP distributed I/O station. It transfers cyclic I/O, diagnostics and station status between the PROFINET controller and the installed ET 200SP modules.

The module supports a station with up to 32 ET 200SP I/O modules and can incorporate up to 16 ET 200AL modules. This creates a practical bridge between cabinet-mounted IP20 I/O and machine-level ET 200AL equipment.

Multi hot swap permits supported module groups to be exchanged while other station sections continue operating, subject to the engineered station arrangement and operating process.

The network connection uses a separately selected ET 200SP BusAdapter. Optional PROFINET strain relief supports orderly cable routing; the included server module 6ES7193-6PA00-0AA0 terminates the ET 200SP backplane bus.

PN Security Class 1 is part of this hardware generation. During replacement, verify the configured device name, IP settings, BusAdapter, server module and project support for the -6AU02 version.
