Modbus TCP/IP Communication

The MVI56E-MNETC platform allows a ControlLogix PAC to interface with Modbus TCP/IP server-compatible devices. Client and server capabilities operate together, supporting applications where data must move between multiple field devices and higher-level systems.

Flexible Data Handling

The module provides user-definable data memory mapping of up to 10,000 16-bit registers. Modbus data types overlap in the memory database, allowing data to be handled at bit or register level.

Configuration & Diagnostics

ProSoft Configuration Builder supports graphical module configuration and diagnostic functions. The Ethernet port also supports configuration and management, while CIPconnect provides network-based access through compatible ControlLogix communication paths.

02	When is MVI56E-MNETC-CC useful when an HMI, SCADA or DCS also needs access? The server function provides external systems with access to module data. The platform supports up to 40 Server connections in total, consisting of 10 Encapsulated connections and 30 MBAP connections.
03	Does MVI56E-MNETC-CC fit a single-slot ControlLogix architecture? Yes. The MVI56E-MNETC platform is designed for a single-slot 1756 ControlLogix backplane. This makes chassis slot availability an important point to verify before ordering a replacement or adding the module to an existing rack.
04	What should be checked when replacing an existing MVI56-MNETC installation with MVI56E-MNETC-CC? The MVI56E family is backward compatible with previous MVI56-MNETC versions.
