The Link Between Controller and Expansion
The Trusted TMR Expander Interface resides in the Trusted Controller Chassis and provides the master interface between the Inter-Module Bus and the Expander Bus. This arrangement allows multiple chassis to be implemented through Expander Bus connections while retaining the fault-tolerant, high-bandwidth characteristics of the Trusted architecture.
The module is built around TMR fault-tolerant architecture and provides fault containment for the Expander Bus, the interface module and the Controller Chassis IMB. T8311CX uses the conformal-coated, non-RoHS configuration of the T8311 family.

The T8311 architecture supports paired interface modules. The left-hand module occupies an odd-numbered slot and the companion module occupies the adjacent even-numbered slot. The two interface positions are interconnected through the T8312 Expander Interface Adaptor.

The T8311 architecture uses three main fault-containment regions, each incorporating interfaces toward the Expander Bus and Inter-Module Bus together with control and communication functions.

Active / Standby Arrangement
A companion interface position is supported in the Controller Chassis. The TMR Processor determines which paired interface module is active when both modules are installed.

Front-Panel Status
Three Healthy indicators correspond to the three TMR channels, while Active and Standby indicators show the operating state of the interface module.
