PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Power Distribution at the Cabinet Level
The Trusted Output Power Distribution Unit is designed to provide 24–120 Vdc for use with Trusted sourcing output modules such as the T8451 and T8471. It is installed on a DIN rail above the relevant output-module I/O connectors and distributes positive field-loop power together with the 0 V module reference.
The unit supports up to three Trusted sourcing output modules when the combined load remains within the unit's rated capacity. Its dual-stud power connection can be used for either a single feed or a dual-feed arrangement, while BLZ two-part connectors provide the 0 V module reference.

Two M6 × 25 mm positive supply studs allow the power connection to be arranged as a single feed or dual feed according to the system design.

Three Output Paths
Three 6-way AMP MATE-N-LOK power-output connectors are provided for connection to the associated output modules.

Reference Distribution
The unit provides the 0 V module reference through BLZ two-part connectors, keeping the field-power distribution arrangement organized around the output modules.

A Dedicated Power Layer for Trusted Outputs
T8290C sits between the DC field-power source and compatible Trusted sourcing output modules. Its physical arrangement is intended for cabinet installation above the relevant output-module I/O connectors, giving the power distribution path a defined location within the control cabinet.

APPLICATION CONSIDERATION
Match the Power Architecture
T8290 is intended for Trusted sourcing output modules. Newer applications using Trusted analogue output modules, or output modules obtaining their 0 V reference through Trusted VFTAs, should instead evaluate the diode-protected T8297 configuration.
The correct distribution unit should be selected according to the output-module architecture and how the 0 V reference is arranged.

The T8290 family is intended for Trusted sourcing output modules and supports up to three such modules within its rated capacity.

Can T8290C be treated as a direct replacement for T8297 when the output architecture has changed?
Not automatically. The T8290 family is intended for the established Trusted sourcing-output power arrangement, while Rockwell identifies T8297 as the diode-protected distribution unit for newer configurations involving specified analogue output modules or output modules obtaining their 0 V reference through VFTAs. The installed architecture should therefore be checked before substituting one for the other.

What should a buyer verify before ordering T8290C for a failed field-power distribution point?
Verify the exact T8290C designation, the connected Trusted output-module models, the DC supply range, the maximum current requirement, the dual-stud supply arrangement, the 6-way output connectors and the 0 V reference connection. The C suffix is used for the coated configuration within the Trusted product family. It can be necessary to distinguish the distribution layer from the output module when a field circuit loses its expected supply. The T8290 distributes positive field-loop power and the 0 V module reference, so supply studs, reference connections, output connectors and associated cabling should be checked alongside the output module before selecting the replacement component.
