PACSystems RX3i CPE302 Controller

The IC695CPE302 is a PACSystems RX3i programmable automation controller designed for real-time control of machines, processes and material-handling systems. It combines CPU processing, embedded Ethernet communication and serial connectivity within the RX3i backplane architecture.

The controller provides 2 MB of user memory, an Energy Pack, USB connectivity and embedded Ethernet communication for programming, supervisory communication and industrial networking. Its modular RX3i architecture allows the CPU to operate with I/O and intelligent option modules installed on the system backplane.

A CPU Designed Around the RX3i Backplane

The RX3i architecture uses a universal backplane and a common control engine. The IC695CPE302 can communicate with I/O and intelligent option modules through the RX3i backplane while its embedded communications interfaces connect the control system with programming, supervisory and external devices.

This arrangement makes the CPU a central element of an RX3i control rack rather than a standalone operator interface. It is intended for applications where deterministic machine or process control needs to coexist with industrial Ethernet and serial communications.
