IC670TBM001 is the barrier-terminal version of the Field Control auxiliary terminal block family. Its nine terminals are electrically connected together internally, making the unit suitable where additional common connection points are required.

No. The terminals are internally connected together, so the unit is intended for common connection arrangements rather than independent isolated circuits.

What is the practical reason for adding this block to a Field Control station?
It adds termination points where the normal I/O terminal arrangement does not provide enough convenient connections for common, return, ground, or related field wiring.

What wire capacity should be checked when replacing an IC670TBM001?
Each of the nine barrier terminals can accommodate one or two wires up to AWG #14. The conductor arrangement should therefore be checked before transferring existing field wiring.                                   .
