COMMUNICATION
HART support on all channels
The redundant pair maintains operation through a module fault; galvanically isolated channels interface field instrumentation with the redundant Fieldbus.
A redundant analog I/O architecture for Foxboro DCS applications, combining four isolated analog input channels and four isolated analog output channels with HART device support.

02 / REDUNDANCY
Continuity across the Fieldbus path
The FBM245 accepts communication from either path of the redundant 2 Mbps module Fieldbus. If one path is unsuccessful or switched at system level, communication continues over the active path.

04 / HART DEVICE INTERFACE
Built for mixed HART and standard current loops
HART instruments compliant with Version 5, 6, or 7 of the HART specifications may be used. The module supports the HART universal commands required to interface field devices with Foxboro DCS.
Each channel is galvanically isolated from other channels and earth/ground. The module and termination assembly withstand 600 VAC for one minute between a channel and ground or between a channel and another channel.

Send the exact part number and application details for a faster quotation.
Can FBM245 handle mixed HART and standard 4–20 mA devices?
Yes. FBM245 supports a mix of standard 4–20 mA devices and HART devices within the applicable loop-resistance limits. HART instruments compliant with HART Versions 5, 6, or 7 may be used.
What should be checked when replacing an FBM245 in an existing installation?
Check the redundant baseplate arrangement, termination assembly, termination cable, field wiring configuration, power arrangement, and the required Foxboro DCS architecture before replacement.
Does FBM245 require a special termination assembly?
FBM245 field wiring connects through a DIN-rail-mounted termination assembly. The specified assemblies include RH924QU and RH924QZ, along with legacy assemblies listed for compatible installations.
How does FBM245 support redundancy during a Fieldbus path issue?
The module communicates through either path of the redundant 2 Mbps module Fieldbus. If one path becomes unsuccessful or is switched at system level, communication continues through the active path.
✦
Is FBM245 suitable when the installation requires channel isolation?
Each input and output channel is galvanically isolated from other channels and earth/ground. The published isolation capability is 600 VAC for one minute under the specified test conditions.
