Discrete Signal Handling

The FBM219 provides 24 discrete input channels and 8 discrete output channels. Compatible termination assemblies condition field signals and can provide current limiting, fusing, relay switching, optical isolation and external power connections according to the selected configuration.

01 Configurable Filtering Input filtering/debounce can be configured for no filtering, 4, 8, 16 or 32 ms.	02 Fail-Safe Functions The module supports configurable fail-safe behavior, fallback settings and sustained or momentary outputs.
03 LED Diagnostics Front-panel LEDs indicate module operating status and individual input/output states.	04 Compact Mounting Mounts on a Compact 200 Series 16-slot horizontal baseplate.

Q1 — Can FBM219 be selected when field devices use different discrete voltage levels? Yes, but the termination assembly must match the field circuit. FBM219 supports configurations for lower-voltage discrete signals as well as 120 VAC / 125 VDC and 240 VAC applications through compatible termination assemblies. The TA provides the required signal conditioning, isolation, relay or protection functions for the selected configuration.	Q2 — What should be checked when replacing an FBM219 in an existing system? Check the Compact 200 Series baseplate, termination assembly type, field voltage arrangement and termination cable configuration before replacement. The FBM219 mounts to the Compact 200 Series baseplate and can be removed without disconnecting field-device termination cabling, power or communication cabling.
Q3 — Does FBM219 require a specific termination assembly for channel isolation? Isolation depends on the selected termination assembly. RH917LL and RH917LP provide input-channel isolation, while RH917LS provides output-channel isolation. Other supported assemblies provide group isolation according to their configuration.	Q4 — Can FBM219 continue communicating if one Fieldbus path becomes unavailable? The module communicates through the redundant 2 Mbps module Fieldbus and accepts communication from either path A or B. If one path is unsuccessful or switched at the system level, the FBM219 continues communication over the active path.
Q5 — Is FBM219 suitable for an installation where cabinet space is limited? The Compact FBM219 uses a narrower form factor than standard 200 Series FBMs. The module is approximately 25 mm wide, 130 mm high and 150 mm deep including baseplate connectors, making the Compact 200 Series mounting architecture relevant where panel space is constrained.	FBM219 purchasing checkpoint For quotation or replacement matching, provide the exact part number, required quantity, destination, required date and machine/system application. For a configured FBM219 assembly, the associated termination assembly and field voltage arrangement should also be confirmed.
