The FBM212 accepts fourteen thermocouple or millivolt inputs and converts them for the Foxboro 200 Series I/O subsystem. A dedicated cold-junction compensation channel works with the platinum RTD in the termination assembly, while configurable conversion timing and rate-of-change limits support process measurement.

How many thermocouple inputs are available?
The module provides fourteen differential thermocouple or millivolt input channels.

Can grounded thermocouples be connected?
No. FBM212 is intended for ungrounded thermocouples. Grounded applications require a different matched arrangement such as FBM202.

Where is cold-junction compensation performed?
A 3-wire 100 ohm platinum RTD inside the termination assembly supplies the compensation measurement.

Does the module support redundant communication?
Yes. It accepts communication through path A or B of the redundant 2 Mbps module fieldbus.
