HDLC Fieldbus Isolation with Extended Reach
FBI200 provides isolation, filtering and repeating functions between the control processor side and an extended fieldbus. On 2 Mbps 200 Series communication, the module provides galvanically isolated drivers and supports twinaxial cable extension up to 305 m (1000 ft). For 268 Kbps communication used by 100 Series FBMs and compatible migration devices, the extended fieldbus distance can reach 1830 m (6000 ft).
Why FBI200 matters in an installed Foxboro architecture
The module allows fieldbus extension while controlling which baud-rate traffic reaches the connected field devices. This is particularly useful where 100 Series and 200 Series FBMs coexist, or where remote FBMs must be placed farther from the associated control processor.
