A compact isolated interface inside the S-Series architecture
The card is designed as a pluggable DeltaV S-Series module. Its electrical and mechanical arrangement places the card between the S-Series I/O carrier and the field termination assembly, allowing the field-side sensor interface to be handled through the corresponding terminal block. |
Four-sensor isolated interface
The KJ3231X1-BK1 provides an isolated interface for up to four sensors. This makes the module distinct from the higher-density S-Series analog input cards used for large groups of conventional 4–20 mA signals. Two-board S-Series construction
The module uses two printed circuit boards together with an LED board inside an S-Series enclosure. The card obtains its operating power from the I/O Carrier. |

Can KJ3231X1-BK1 replace a higher-density S-Series analog input card?
Not as a like-for-like channel replacement. KJ3231X1-BK1 is an isolated-input card for up to four sensors, while KJ3222X1-BK1 provides eight 4–20 mA inputs and KJ3223X1-BK1 provides sixteen 4–20 mA HART inputs. The correct choice therefore depends on the sensor interface and required channel density. |
What terminal-block key should be matched with KJ3231X1-BK1?
The isolated-input terminal block is specified with key position C2. The card and terminal-block keying arrangement is important because the rotary keying system is intended to prevent an incompatible card and terminal block from being installed together. |
