The PR9350/02 is an inductive linear displacement transducer designed for static and dynamic displacement measurement. Its differential-coil construction, low moving mass and compact housing support precise mechanical displacement measurement across a ±25 mm range.
The sensor is designed to operate with a carrier-frequency measuring bridge and is preferably used with the A6500-LC LVDT Converter and A6500-UM Universal Measurement Card.

Product Overview
The PR9350/02 is part of the PR9350 family of inductive transducers used for measuring static and dynamic displacement. The sensing element uses a differential coil arrangement with a ferromagnetic core attached to a freely movable tracing pin. Movement of the core changes the impedance relationship between the two windings and produces a bridge output proportional to displacement.
The PR9350 design combines high resolution over the measuring range, small hysteresis, compact construction and low tracing-pin mass. A compensation coil is wound directly over the measuring coil to reduce temperature drift. Dynamic measurements are supported up to 1250 Hz.

Measurement Architecture
The PR9350/02 works as a sensing element within a carrier-frequency measurement arrangement. A suitable bridge excitation is applied to the differential windings, while the resulting bridge voltage changes with the position of the tracing pin.
The sensor is preferably paired with the A6500-LC LVDT Converter or A6500-UM Universal Measurement Card for measurement-system integration.
The sensor itself is not a conventional 4–20 mA transmitter. When replacing a sensor in an existing installation, the excitation, converter/card arrangement and mechanical interface therefore need to match the installed measurement architecture.

Application Scenarios
PR9350 transducers can measure static and dynamic displacement. With suitable mechanical accessories, physical quantities such as force, pressure, material thickness and transverse moments can also be converted into linear movement and measured.
For machinery applications, the sensor can be integrated into displacement-monitoring arrangements where the movement of a target is mechanically coupled to the tracing pin.
The ±25 mm range of PR9350/02 is particularly relevant when the expected displacement is greater than the ±12 mm range of PR9350/01 but does not require the larger ranges available from PR9350/04 and above.
Replacement & Fault Checks
01 — Open circuit: An infinite resistance indicates an interrupted sensor connection.
02 — Short circuit: A 0 Ω reading indicates a short circuit.
03 — PR9350/02 winding check: Approx. 66.0–73.6 Ω between A and C.
04 — Individual winding check: Approx. 33.0–36.8 Ω between A-B or B-C.
05 — False signal: Incorrect polarity or improper mechanical installation can produce signals that do not represent the actual measured quantity.

01 Is PR9350-02 a direct replacement when the existing installation uses a ±25 mm LVDT sensor?
  PR9350/02 has a ±25 mm measuring range, so the range matches an installation designed around that displacement span. However, a replacement should also match the excitation method, carrier-frequency measurement chain, connector arrangement and mechanical mounting. A range match alone does not establish full system compatibility.
What should be checked before ordering PR9350-02 for an existing machinery-monitoring installation? 02
The important checks are the ±25 mm mechanical range, 270 mV/V sensitivity, 5 Vrms sensor excitation, 3–5 kHz carrier frequency, the 3-pole Cannon connection, M3 tracing-pin interface and the associated converter or measurement card. The existing mechanical target position should also be checked before installation.  
03 Why is PR9350-02 normally paired with an LVDT converter instead of being connected like a standard 4–20 mA transmitter?
  PR9350/02 is the sensing element of a carrier-frequency inductive measurement arrangement. Its specified excitation is 5 Vrms with a 3–5 kHz carrier frequency, and its sensitivity is expressed as 270 mV/V. Therefore, the sensor requires an appropriate carrier-frequency measurement interface such as the compatible LVDT converter or measurement-card architecture rather than a conventional current-loop input.
How can PR9350-02 be checked when the measured displacement signal becomes abnormal? 04
The sensor coil resistance can be checked at the connection terminals. For PR9350/02, the expected resistance is approximately 66.0–73.6 Ω between A and C, and approximately 33.0–36.8 Ω between A-B or B-C. A 0 Ω result indicates a short circuit, while an infinite resistance indicates an interrupted connection. Electrical checks should be carried out by appropriately trained personnel with machine-protection procedures observed.  
05 When should PR9350-02 be selected instead of PR9350-01 or PR9350-04?
  PR9350/01 provides a ±12 mm range, PR9350/02 provides ±25 mm, and PR9350/04 provides ±50 mm. PR9350/02 therefore fits an application requiring the intermediate ±25 mm range. The selection should be based on the actual mechanical displacement and the required measurement-system sensitivity rather than choosing the largest available range.
