A compact monitoring unit designed for small and low-channel rotating machinery applications where reliable shaft-speed measurement and key-signal generation are required. The A3311-022-000 configuration uses an internal eddy-current converter and provides configurable measurement, alarm and output functions.

Product Overview
The Emerson CSI 3311 family is intended for small and low-channel machinery monitoring applications. The A3311-022-000 is the internal-converter configuration for speed and key monitoring. It is designed to measure rotational speed and generate key signals on equipment such as small steam, gas and hydro turbines, compressors, pumps and fans. Measurement settings, alarm functions and available outputs can be configured for the installation.
The unit accepts eddy-current sensor signals and supports a configurable measurement range up to 65,535 rpm, subject to the input-frequency limit. An automatic trigger-level function supports reliable signal detection, while isolated current outputs, buffered voltage outputs and relay contacts provide practical interfaces for control, monitoring and protection circuits.

01 Is A3311-022-000 the correct configuration when the installation requires an internal eddy-current converter?
  Yes. A3311-022-000 is the internal-converter configuration of the CSI 3311 speed and key monitoring unit. The ordering configuration specifies internal eddy-current conversion, so it should be distinguished from an arrangement intended to use an external converter.
When replacing an existing unit, what should be checked before ordering A3311-022-000? 02
Confirm the exact part-number configuration, the eddy-current sensor arrangement, the available DC supply, current-loop burden, buffered-voltage connection, relay contact requirements and the physical installation conditions. The replacement should match the existing signal architecture rather than being selected only by the general “speed monitor” description.  
03 Can A3311-022-000 support both analog monitoring and relay-based alarm integration?
  Yes. The unit provides two galvanically separated 0/4–20 mA current outputs and two buffered 2.0–10.0 VDC outputs, together with five make-contact relay outputs. The current outputs are specified as open-circuit and short-circuit protected, with a maximum burden of 500 Ω. Relay contacts are rated up to 48 VDC, 1 A and 50 W within the stated limits.

Because the frequency range is 0–20 kHz, the complete sensor, target and pulse-frequency arrangement should be checked against the actual shaft-speed requirement before ordering.
