Absolute Casing Vibration Measurement

The 9200 family uses moving-coil technology to produce a voltage output directly proportional to vibration velocity. The system measures absolute vibration relative to free space and is intended for measurements on bearing housings, machine casings and structures.

The two-wire design does not require external power for the transducer itself, making the technology suitable for continuous monitoring as well as periodic measurements with test or diagnostic equipment.

For the 9200-03-02-02-00 configuration, the ordering code specifies a 90° ±2.5° mounting orientation with a 4.5 Hz minimum operating frequency, a side-mounted connector and a circular mounting base using a 1/4-28 UNF stud.

Built Around Correct Orientation

The Seismoprobe transducer is specified according to mounting orientation. The 9200-03 configuration is calibrated for 90° ±2.5° with a 4.5 Hz minimum operating frequency.

MOUNTING POSITION

The selected orientation should match the calibrated mounting direction so that sensitivity remains within the specified tolerance.

CASING MEASUREMENT

Effective casing measurement depends on transmitting a significant amount of rotor vibration to the selected machine housing location.

CABLE PATH

The standard installation uses protected wiring, normally with the wiring routed in conduit. The transducer-to-monitor lead length can reach 305 m under the specified system arrangement.

MATERIAL CONSTRUCTION

The case and adapter use anodized aluminum A204. The standard 9200 gasket material is neoprene.

03 / SERIES RELATIONSHIP

9200 Family / 74712 High-Temperature Variant

9200 FAMILY
Two-Wire

The 9200 is the standard-temperature moving-coil Seismoprobe velocity transducer family for continuous monitoring or periodic vibration measurements.

THIS CONFIGURATION
9200-03-02-02-00

90° ±2.5° orientation, 4.5 Hz minimum operating frequency, side-mounted connector, circular 1/4-28 UNF mounting base and no agency approval option.

74712
High Temperature

The 74712 is the high-temperature version of the 9200 family, with an operating and storage temperature range extending to +204°C.

Selection point: For replacement purchasing, match the complete ordering configuration rather than comparing only the 9200 family number. Mounting angle, connector arrangement, mounting base and approval option materially change the finished configuration.

9200-03-02-02-00 FAQ

Can 9200-03-02-02-00 replace another 9200 unit without checking the mounting arrangement?

Not automatically. The 9200 ordering code defines mounting angle, connector/cable arrangement, mounting base and approval option. A replacement should therefore be matched against the complete configuration, not only the family number.

Why does 9200-03-02-02-00 require the 90° orientation to be considered during replacement?

The “03” configuration is specified for 90° ±2.5° and a 4.5 Hz minimum operating frequency. The transducer is calibrated according to its specified mounting orientation, so physical installation should preserve that configuration.

What should be prepared when ordering 9200-03-02-02-00 for an existing vibration loop?

Confirm the required side-mounted connector arrangement, the circular 1/4-28 UNF mounting base, the receiving monitor or instrument, the termination arrangement and the required cable routing before purchase.

Does 9200-03-02-02-00 include an integral cable?

No. The “02” connector option is the side-mount configuration without an integral cable. A suitable interconnect cable must therefore be selected separately for the installation arrangement.

What operating conditions should be checked before purchasing 9200-03-02-02-00?

The standard 9200 operating and storage temperature range is −29°C to +121°C. The specified frequency response for the 4.5 Hz configuration is 4.5 to 1000 Hz, with +0/−3 dB typical response. The installation should also account for the specified load, orientation and environmental conditions.
