01 / PRODUCT PROFILE
A Defined Mounting Arrangement for Proximity Monitoring

The Bently Nevada 21000 is an all-metal proximity probe housing assembly intended for external mounting of proximity probes. Its assembly design combines a housing body and cover with probe mounting provisions, conduit ports, sealing components and selectable fittings. External access allows probe-gap adjustment or probe replacement without dismantling the machine.

This configured part number identifies a 3300 XL 8 mm probe, a 1.0 m probe cable, no standoff adapter, a 7.6 in penetration, the option-03 cable seal grip arrangement and a 3/4-14 NPT mounting thread. The final fit depends on the machine interface, required approvals and the complete installed transducer system.

PROBE OPTION
3300 XL 8 mm
The A16 option specifies the 8 mm probe with connector.
CABLE LENGTH
1.0 m / 39 in
Confirm that the configured lead length suits the installed geometry.
PENETRATION
7.6 in
The D076 option defines the nominal probe penetration dimension.
MOUNTING THREAD
3/4-14 NPT
The F02 option identifies the mounting thread.
Why the complete suffix matters

Two assemblies from the same family may differ in probe type, lead length, penetration, standoff adapter, fitting arrangement or thread. Match the complete part number and installed dimensions before confirming a replacement.

Configuration Breakdown
Suffix Meaning Configured value
21000 Housing family Metal probe housing; aluminum body
16 Probe option 3300 XL 8 mm probe with connector
10 Probe cable 1.0 m (39 in)
00 Standoff adapter None
076 Penetration 7.6 in
03 Cable sealing option Cable seal grip with grommets for specified cable diameter ranges
02 Mounting thread 3/4-14 NPT

The option-03 cable seal grip accommodates specified cable diameters, including 1/8–3/16 in, 1/4–5/16 in and 5/16–3/8 in. Check the actual cable outer diameter and fitting arrangement before installation.

02 / SYSTEM RELATIONSHIPS
Choose by Measurement, Material and Mounting

The housing is only one part of a proximity measurement chain. Probe compatibility, extension cable, Proximitor Sensor, monitor input, mechanical geometry and hazardous-area requirements must be considered together.

Family Main distinction Selection focus
21000 Aluminum metal housing Existing 21000 installations and matching configured geometry
24701 Stainless-steel housing family Material requirements and the exact installed interface
164818 Related metal housing family Verify its own complete configuration before comparison
31000 / 32000 PPS housing family with different mounting and environmental design Alternative installations where an explosion-proof housing is not required
21022 Dual axial probe housing assembly Dual-probe shaft axial-position measurements
Important approval distinction

Do not assume every standard 21000 configuration is explosion-proof. Confirm the precise housing variant and its approval markings for the installation area. For applications requiring a certified explosion-proof housing, verify the appropriate CA housing configuration and its ordering restrictions.

05 / BUYER QUESTIONS
21000-16-10-00-076-03-02 FAQ
Q1. What must match before I replace an existing 21000-16-10-00-076-03-02 assembly?

Match the complete order code, probe option, 1.0 m cable, no-standoff arrangement, 7.6 in penetration, option-03 cable seal grip, 3/4-14 NPT thread and the required site approvals. Check the machine opening and cable outer diameter rather than relying on the family name alone.

Q2. Can the 7.6 in penetration be treated as the overall housing length?

No. Penetration is a defined ordering dimension, not a substitute for the complete assembly dimensions. Verify the mounting interface, machine-case thickness, probe position and available clearance against the installed arrangement.

Q3. Does option -03 mean the assembly includes every cable fitting?

Option -03 identifies a cable seal grip with grommets for specified cable diameter ranges. Check the actual cable diameter and confirm the complete fitting arrangement required for the installation.

Q4. Is 21000-16-10-00-076-03-02 suitable for every hazardous area?

Do not assume so. Hazardous-area suitability depends on the exact housing version, probe approval, associated transducer system and installation conditions. Confirm the required certification before ordering or installing.

Q5. What should I send to check availability and replacement suitability?

Send the complete part number, quantity, destination, required date, a photo of the installed nameplate and mounting point, and details of the existing probe/cable/monitor chain if available. This helps check the correct configuration instead of a similar-looking variant.
