Built for Low-Frequency Machine Vibration Monitoring

 

The 200155 accelerometer is a case-mounted seismic transducer designed for Trendmaster ProTIM applications. Its low-frequency configuration is intended for applications such as fin-fan equipment and slow-rotating shafts. The sensor uses a piezoelectric sensing element and converts vibration-related charge into a differential voltage proportional to acceleration along the sensitive axis.

The 200155 configuration is intended for low-frequency acceleration-to-velocity channel applications and is recommended for frequencies of interest below 10 Hz.

INSTALLATION POINT

Bearing Housing / Machine Casing

For casing vibration measurement, the sensor should be mounted where significant rotor vibration is transmitted to the machine casing. Improper mounting can reduce amplitude or frequency response and may create signals that do not represent actual machine vibration.

Why can this part become a critical replacement?

Changes such as unbalance and misalignment can originate at the rotor and appear as changes in rotor vibration. If the monitoring channel or sensor is unsuitable, improperly installed, or replaced with a different configuration, the resulting vibration measurement may not accurately represent machine condition. For this reason, the complete model suffix, mounting arrangement and connected low-frequency channel should be checked before replacement.

Low-Frequency Channel

Because of the 200155's long settling time, it is intended for low-frequency acceleration-to-velocity channel types on ProTIM, DSM, or System 1 systems.

Cable Length

The maximum allowed cable length specified for use with the 200155 is 15.24 m (50 ft.).

Frequency Limitation

The acceleration-to-velocity circuitry attenuates frequencies above 1 kHz, so the 200155 should not be selected when higher-frequency vibration data is required.

Mounting Quality

Mount the accelerometer on the bearing housing or machine casing with suitable mechanical contact. Poor installation can reduce measurement response or produce misleading vibration signals.
