APPLICATION VIEW

Built for Harsh Machinery Environments

The 146054 ceramic-capped probe is intended for applications where the front of the probe assembly can encounter corrosive gases or liquids. The ceramic-to-metal interface is designed to prevent corrosive media from entering the front end of the probe case.

Typical machinery monitoring environments can include equipment exposed to aggressive chemical conditions, anhydrous ammonia and other extreme-pH environments.

INSTALLATION ATTENTION
The rear of the 146054 probe is not sealed. The rear portion must not be exposed to destructive environments such as water, NH3, NH4OH or hydrogen sulfide.
MONITORING ROLE
Continuous Machinery Condition Monitoring

TECHNICAL FAQ

146054-12-05-01-05 Questions

1. What type of probe is 146054-12-05-01-05?
It is a 3300 Ceramic Capped Probe in the 146054 family, using a 3/8-24 UNF thread and intended for demanding proximity monitoring applications.
2. Why is the ceramic cap important in this configuration?
The alumina ceramic tip is designed for environments where the front of the probe can be exposed to corrosive gases or liquids, helping protect the probe front-end assembly.
3. Which cable length does the “05” configuration represent?
The 05 cable option represents a total probe length of 0.5 meter, approximately 1.6 feet.
4. What connector configuration does 01 represent?
The 01 option specifies a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector with a connector protector and standard cable.
5. What installation condition deserves particular attention?
The probe should be electrically gapped and the ceramic tip should not contact the target surface. The recommended gap setting is 1.0 mm / 40 mils, while the rear of the 146054 assembly must be protected from destructive environmental exposure.
