This coated resistor board provides external measurement of a DC motor's armature voltage. Two resistor chains accept the motor-side DC potential through X1 and X2, reduce it to a measurement level, and deliver the resulting signal from X3 to the drive control input AI3.

External Measurement Versus Internal Measurement
Motor Side C1 positive voltage enters X1; D1 negative voltage enters X2. Position selection follows nominal motor voltage. Advantage: measures the voltage at the motor side of a DC breaker or contactor, preserving feedback when the converter-side value does not represent the motor terminals.
UCM Board The paired resistor chains scale the armature voltage. The coated construction adds surface protection for the assembly. Advantage: a dedicated external measurement path with clear connector separation between high-potential input and reduced output.
Drive Side X3 feeds AI3 on the drive control interface. The board is mounted outside the drive module. Advantage: the drive can use the external motor-voltage feedback while the internal voltage measurement remains connected and available in the control program.
