Tricon Communication Module with Embedded OPC Server

The 4353 TCM expands a Tricon controller with copper Ethernet and isolated serial communication. It combines two 10/100BaseT RJ-45 network ports, four configurable RS-232/RS-485 ports and an embedded OPC server for integration, engineering access, time synchronization and Modbus communication.

Configuration rules: a Tricon system supports up to four TCMs in two logical slots. Different TCM models cannot share one logical slot. TCM hot-spare operation is unavailable, although a faulty TCM can be replaced while the controller remains online.

4353 Buyer FAQ

1. Is 4353 the correct TCM when embedded OPC is required? Yes. Model 4353 is the copper Ethernet TCM with an embedded OPC server; NET 2 is assigned to OPC, TriStation and SNTP.	2. Can 4353 replace a fiber TCM without cabling changes? No. Model 4353 uses copper RJ-45 ports, while fiber variants use MT-RJ connections. Match the network medium and logical-slot configuration.
3. Does 4353 provide hot-spare redundancy? No. TCM hot-spare operation is not available. A faulty TCM can be replaced online, but this is different from an active hot-spare pair.	4. Which serial duties can 4353 handle? Its four isolated RS-232/RS-485 ports can be configured for Modbus master or slave, Trimble GPS timing and serial TriStation communication.
5. What should be checked before installing 4353? Confirm the Tricon system version, copper network requirement, logical-slot partner model, port protocol plan and the absence of mixed TCM models in the same logical slot.
