Overview

6GK7443-5DX05-0XE0 is the CP 443-5 Extended PROFIBUS communication processor that plugs straight into any SIMATIC S7-400 or S7-400H rack. In one 25 mm-wide S7-400 slot it adds a full-speed PROFIBUS-DP/V1 port (9.6 k-12 Mbit/s), handles up to 125 slaves, 4 kB I/O each way, and still leaves room for 48 S7-connections or 32 open TCP-style links on the same module. Power comes from the back-plane (5 V, 0.6 A typ.) so no extra supply is needed, and the board is conformally coated for 95 % humidity, 0-60 °C operation. Five front LEDs give instant bus/CPU status, firmware can be flashed over PROFIBUS, and the card is hot-swappable when the rack is redundant, making it the fastest way to bring legacy or new DP devices into an S7-400 project without changing CPU code or adding external gateways.
