Built for compact S7-1200 digital I/O expansion

The SM 1223 module combines 8 digital inputs and 8 digital transistor outputs in one S7-1200 expansion module. Its 24 V DC input arrangement supports sink/source wiring, while the transistor outputs provide a 0.5 A output rating.

In an operating S7-1200 control cabinet, this type of module is used where additional digital field signals are required. Searches for this part number commonly arise when an existing digital input or output channel becomes unavailable, a module needs replacement after a hardware fault, or an installed spare must match the existing I/O configuration.
