PLX82-EIP-61850 — Can the two Ethernet ports be assigned to different protocol networks?
Yes. The product architecture permits IEC 61850 and EtherNet/IP to operate on separate subnets, making the gateway suitable for installations where the control and substation networks are separated.

PLX82-EIP-61850 — Does it support IEC 61850 reporting rather than only cyclic polling?
Yes. BRCB and URCB reporting are supported in addition to MMS communication.

PLX82-EIP-61850 — What should be considered when estimating EtherNet/IP data size?
The gateway supports up to 20 EtherNet/IP I/O connections, with maximum capacities of 10,000 bytes input and 9,920 bytes output.

PLX82-EIP-61850 — Can IED data be brought into a Logix project without manually rebuilding every tag?
The dedicated configuration utility can generate the Add-On Instruction and transfer configured IED tag structures for use with RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000.

PLX82-EIP-61850 — Does the gateway provide time synchronization?
Yes. An SNTP/NTP client can periodically synchronize the gateway clock against a configured UTC time service.
