n What are Static Amplifiers?

Within the HIMA Planar System F, Static Amplifiers are electronic signal-conditioning and interface modules designed to process DC (static) signals for industrial control applications. They provide reliable signal amplification, logic conversion, and output driving for binary control systems without relying on electromechanical relays. These modules are intended for standard automation tasks, while dedicated safety-related modules are available for safety-critical applications.

n Working Principle

Static Amplifiers receive binary input signals from field devices such as:

l Mechanical contacts

l Limit switches

l Proximity sensors

The modules amplify, condition, or logically process these signals using semiconductor circuitry. Depending on the module type, the processed signals can:

l Drive power outputs

l Operate relay contacts

l Generate logic signals

l Execute logic functions such as AND, OR, NOT, timing, or pulse generation

Unlike relay-based systems, Static Amplifiers process signals entirely with DC electronic circuits, resulting in faster response, improved reliability, and reduced maintenance.
