RX3i POWER ROLE
IC695PSD140E provides three DC outputs for the RX3i platform. The +5.1 VDC output is used internally by RX3i modules with IC695 and IC694 catalog numbers. The +24 VDC relay output can supply circuits on Output Relay modules, while the +3.3 VDC output is used internally by RX3i modules with IC695 catalog numbers.

MULTI-SUPPLY CONFIGURATION
IC695PSD140E can operate as the only power supply in the Universal Backplane or be combined with up to three additional multipurpose power supplies for load-sharing or redundancy applications.
Do not combine IC695PSD140E with IC695PSD040 or IC695PSA040 for redundant or increased-capacity operation.

01 — Can IC695PSD140E replace a failed RX3i multipurpose DC power supply?
It can serve as the multipurpose 24 VDC / 40 W power-supply choice for an RX3i Universal Backplane when the rack configuration and power requirements match. The incoming source must be within the specified 18–30 VDC range.

02 — Can IC695PSD140E be added when one RX3i supply is no longer sufficient?
Yes, IC695PSD140E supports load-sharing and redundancy arrangements. Up to four multipurpose power supplies can be used in one RX3i Universal Backplane, subject to the system configuration.

03 — What should be checked before ordering IC695PSD140E as a replacement?
Check the RX3i Universal Backplane application, the available DC input source, the total rack load and whether the existing installation uses load-sharing or redundancy. Also check the other power-supply catalog numbers already installed in the rack.

04 — Can IC695PSD140E be combined with IC695PSD040 for higher capacity?
No. IC695PSD140E cannot be used with IC695PSD040 or IC695PSA040 in redundant or increased-capacity modes. A replacement configuration should therefore be checked against the existing RX3i power-supply arrangement before installation.

05 — Why does IC695PSD140E matter when an RX3i application needs both rack power and redundancy?
The multipurpose design provides +5.1 VDC, +24 VDC relay and +3.3 VDC outputs, while the supply can participate in load-sharing and redundancy configurations.
