When an output point becomes critical
 

The IC670MDL730 provides a single group of eight discrete outputs for 24 VDC positive-logic control. The output electronics include protection against overcurrent and short-circuit conditions.

In a Field Control installation, an output fault can become significant when a commanded field device does not respond as expected. A failed output channel, persistent fault condition or loss of the required field supply can interrupt the operation of the connected device and may require maintenance attention before normal operation can continue.
