Each input group contains eight points with a common return. The groups can be wired for positive or negative logic. Negative-logic functionality requires module version IC200MDD842B or higher, therefore revision F supports both input logic arrangements.
INPUT RESPONSE

Basic input ON/OFF response time maximum
Selectable Input Filtering
Software-configurable filter settings are 0 ms, 1.0 ms, and 7.0 ms. The resulting total input response times are 0.5 ms, 1.5 ms, and 7.5 ms respectively. The default filter setting is 1.0 ms, giving a total response time of 1.5 ms.

Each output provides electronic short-circuit protection, electronic overcurrent protection, and a free-wheeling diode. The typical steady-state overcurrent trip point is 1.6 A, with a specified range of 0.7 A to 2.5 A.
Point-Level Indication
Individual green LEDs indicate the ON/OFF state of input and output points. Output LEDs are dependent on field power but independent of load conditions.
Individual amber LEDs indicate an overload condition on an output point.
Module Diagnostics
The module reports overloaded points to the system on a per-module basis. When the overload condition is removed, normal operation resumes.
The green FLD PWR LED indicates field power, while the green OK LED indicates backplane power.

Inputs 9–16 Common
Outputs form one group with DC+ and DC− terminals. Inputs form two groups of eight, each with its own common return. When inductive loads are connected, external suppression circuits are recommended.
FIELD POWER
+18 to +30 VDC
24 VDC nominal external supply
External Supply Selection
The external supply must provide sufficient field power during output short-circuit events. An inadequate supply can allow field voltage to fall below the specified operating range and cause module misoperation.
Supply wiring resistance should be minimized, and the supply should be capable of providing the required short-circuit energy without degradation of output voltage.
INSTALLATION ENVIRONMENT
Thermal Loading Matters
The number of output points that can be ON simultaneously depends on ambient temperature, external voltage, module orientation, and DIN-rail orientation. The allowable combinations change as temperature increases.

Send the part number, quantity, destination, required date, and machine or system details. Our sales team can help check the required configuration and revision before order processing.
01 · IC200MDD842F — Does revision F support negative-logic input wiring?
Yes. Negative-logic input functionality requires version IC200MDD842B or higher, so revision F supports both positive-logic and negative-logic input arrangements.
02 · IC200MDD842F — What should be checked if the existing replacement uses a different input polarity?
Confirm the field wiring and common arrangement of the existing installation. The two input groups each have their own common return, and revision F supports either positive-logic or negative-logic wiring.
03 · IC200MDD842F — Can the 16 outputs be treated as individually isolated channels?
No. The module has no point-to-point isolation. It provides user I/O-to-logic/frame-ground isolation and group-to-group isolation, while the 16 outputs belong to one output group.
04 · IC200MDD842F — What matters when selecting the external power supply for a replacement?
The field supply must operate within +18 to +30 VDC and provide enough short-circuit energy for the connected loads. If the supply voltage collapses during a short-circuit event, the module may not operate correctly.
05 · IC200MDD842F — Does the installed load configuration affect the usable output count at higher temperatures?
Yes. The number of output points that may remain ON simultaneously depends on ambient temperature, external voltage, module orientation, and DIN-rail orientation. Thermal derating should therefore be checked when a replacement is being installed in a high-temperature enclosure.
