PR6426/000-030 at a Glance
The PR6426 is a non-contact eddy current sensor intended for critical turbomachinery applications. It measures radial and axial shaft displacement, position, eccentricity and motion without physical contact between the sensing element and the rotating target.
The 32 mm PR6426 design provides a large sensing geometry for applications where shaft displacement measurement must remain stable in demanding machinery environments. The measuring chain is used with compatible signal converters and can be configured for the requirements of the monitored machine.
For the PR6426/000-030 configuration, the order-code combination corresponds to a no-thread mounting-plate arrangement, non-armored cable, adaptor plug, 8 m total cable length and LEMO cable end.

PR642x Eddy Current Sensor Family
The PR642x family covers five sensor types: PR6422, PR6423, PR6424, PR6425 and PR6426. The sensor choice is tied to the required measuring range, available measuring track, shaft geometry and environmental temperature. PR6426 is the 32 mm member of the family and is intended for applications requiring its larger sensor geometry and corresponding measuring characteristics.

PR6426 is intended for critical rotating machinery where shaft movement must be measured without mechanical contact. Its application range includes steam turbines, gas turbines, hydro turbines, compressors, pumps and fans.

01 — Is PR6426/000-030 the right configuration when an existing installation uses an unthreaded mounting plate?
Yes, the /000 configuration is the no-thread mounting-plate version. The /000-030 combination is associated with the 80 × 40 mm mounting-plate arrangement, non-armored cable, adaptor plug, 8 m total cable length and LEMO cable end. This makes the complete order code important when matching an existing installation.
02 — What should a buyer verify before replacing a PR6426/000-030 in an operating turbomachine?
Verify the complete sensor code, mounting arrangement, cable construction and cable termination rather than matching only “PR6426.” The converter used in the measuring chain also matters because the sensor and converter are designed to operate as a calibrated measurement chain.
03 — Why can PR6426/000-030 be considered for large-shaft machinery instead of a smaller PR642x sensor?
PR6426 is the 32 mm member of the PR642x family. Its sensor geometry is intended for applications where the measuring arrangement, available track and machine geometry call for the PR6426 class. Selection should therefore follow the required range and installation geometry rather than sensor size alone.
04 — Does PR6426/000-030 include the complete signal-conditioning electronics?
No. PR6426/000-030 is the sensor assembly. Emerson's PR642x system uses compatible converter families such as CON011, CON021 and CON041 to form the complete eddy current measuring chain. The converter must therefore be checked separately when replacing a complete measurement chain.
05 — What makes PR6426/000-030 particularly relevant when cable routing is already fixed at the machine?
The exact order code preserves important installation characteristics. PR6426/000-030 uses an 8 m total cable length and LEMO cable end, together with the no-thread, non-armored configuration.
