01 Measurement: converts eddy-current sensor signals for static and dynamic distance measurements on rotating machinery, including shaft displacement, position, eccentricity and speed.
02 Signal performance: 0 to 20 kHz frequency range with a nominal converter output range of -2 to -18 V.
03 Installation: compact DIN-rail design with screw terminals, LEMO sensor connection and Micro-USB configuration interface.

A Converter Built Around the Measuring Chain
Sensor → Converter → Measurement System
The AMS EZ 1000 Converter receives the high-frequency signal generated by an eddy-current sensor and processes the sensor response into a distance-proportional output. The measuring chain is calibrated around the connected sensor, cable length and target material.

Non-hazardous application focus
The NOEX designation is used for the non-hazardous-location variant. It should not be treated as an Ex-certified variant merely because other EZ 1000 variants have hazardous-location approvals.

EZ1000 / EZ1000-SIS
Core platform / safety-related variant
The EZ 1000 platform uses the same fundamental eddy-current conversion concept. The SIS variant is the safety-rated member of the platform; safety-related capability must be matched to the exact ordered variant.

Multiple sensor families
The converter can be configured for EZ105x, EZ108x and EZ116x sensors, and supports selected PR642x and Bently Nevada 3300 XL sensor configurations when the required adaptation is used.

COMPATIBILITY EZ105x / EZ108x / EZ116x sensors; selected PR6424, PR6425 and PR6426 sensors with adaptation; selected Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8 mm proximity probes with the appropriate adapter.

EZ1000-NOEX Selection & Application FAQ
Q1
Can EZ1000-NOEX be selected when the existing machine uses a different eddy-current sensor family?
It can support several sensor families, but the exact sensor type, cable configuration and adaptation must match the supported measuring-chain configuration. Selected PR642x and Bently Nevada 3300 XL configurations require the appropriate adapter.
Q2
Does EZ1000-NOEX need calibration when a sensor or target material is changed?
Yes. The measuring chain is influenced by the connected sensor, sensor cable length and target material. The converter should be calibrated to the actual measuring chain, and a different target material at a new measuring point may require recalibration.
Q3
What should be checked when EZ1000-NOEX is replacing a converter in an existing measurement chain?
Check the sensor model, cable arrangement, target material, measuring range and required output behavior before replacement. The converter must be configured and calibrated for the actual sensor chain rather than treated as an interchangeable voltage converter.
Q4
Can EZ1000-NOEX be connected directly to an AMS 6500 measurement system?
The converter can be used as part of an eddy-current measuring chain with measurement cards such as the A6500-UM. Installation, cable shielding, supply arrangement and the exact application configuration should be checked before commissioning.

Is EZ1000-NOEX the correct choice when the installation requires hazardous-location certification?
No. EZ1000-NOEX is the non-hazardous-location variant. Applications requiring hazardous-location approval must use an appropriately approved EZ 1000 variant and the required installation arrangement rather than substituting the NOEX version.
