01 / PRODUCT OVERVIEW
A Practical Sensor for Machine-Case Vibration
Piezoelectric sensing
The 20015x family uses a piezoelectric sensing element. Mechanical vibration produces a charge that is converted electronically into a differential voltage proportional to acceleration along the sensitive axis.

Built for industrial environments
The sensor uses a hermetically sealed stainless-steel housing. The 200150 construction uses 316L stainless steel and a top-mounted 5-pin connector for the interconnecting signal cable.

04 / APPLICATION & MAINTENANCE CONTEXT
Where This Sensor Becomes Important
Trendmaster monitoring
The 200150 accelerometer is intended for general applications with Trendmaster Pro standard acceleration-to-velocity channels and also operates with the Trendmaster 2000 system.

Machine-case vibration
Typical monitoring focuses on vibration transmitted to a bearing housing or machine casing. Changes associated with conditions such as unbalance or misalignment can become significant when the machine transmits sufficient rotor vibration to the measurement location.

!
Why installation quality matters
Incorrect mounting can reduce amplitude or frequency response and may produce signals that do not represent actual machine vibration. The accelerometer should be installed on an appropriate bearing housing or machine casing location so the measured casing vibration is meaningful.

06 / FAQ
Questions Maintenance Teams Usually Check
1. What should be checked if the replacement sensor gives a noticeably different vibration level?
Check the exact accelerometer model, mounting configuration, mounting surface, installation torque, signal cable, and compatible acceleration-to-velocity channel. The mounting point is particularly important because poor coupling can alter both amplitude and frequency response.

2. Why does the 200150 matter when the monitoring channel is already available?
The sensor and the channel form a measurement chain. The 200150 is intended for the standard acceleration-to-velocity application, while other 20015x variants address low-frequency or acceleration-enveloping applications. Using the wrong sensor type can affect the resulting measurement.

3. When replacing a 200150, does the mounting option need to match?
Yes. The 200150 ordering structure includes different mounting options. Option 06 uses a 3/8-24 to 1/4 NPT, 3/4-inch hex stud. A mechanically different mounting arrangement should not be assumed to be an equivalent replacement.

4. What could cause unstable readings even when the sensor itself is functioning?
Possible causes include poor mechanical coupling, unsuitable mounting location, cable or connector problems, an incompatible monitoring channel, or vibration that is not effectively transmitted from the rotor to the casing. Installation and signal-chain checks should be completed before replacing the sensor.

5. Which operating conditions should be considered before ordering a replacement?
Confirm the complete part number, mounting option, required cable arrangement, monitoring channel, environmental temperature, and any required hazardous-area approval. The 200150 family is specified for -40°C to +105°C sensor operating temperature.
