| 01 | Can 1769-IQ16 accept both sinking and sourcing field-device arrangements? Yes. It is a 24 V DC sink/source input module, allowing the input circuit to be used with either wiring arrangement within its specified operating range. |
| 02 | What is the practical difference between 1769-IQ16 and 1769-IQ16F? Both provide sixteen 24 V DC sink/source inputs, while the IQ16F is the high-speed version. Standard IQ16 has 8 ms ON and 8 ms OFF input delay. |
| 03 | Can 1769-IQ16 be used close to the power supply in a Compact I/O bank? Yes. Its specified power-supply distance rating is eight modules, so the complete bank layout should keep the module within that distance. |
| 04 | What voltage should be present for a 1769-IQ16 input to be considered ON? The minimum ON-state voltage is 10 V DC and the minimum ON-state current is 2 mA. The normal operating range depends on ambient temperature. |
| 05 | Is 1769-IQ16 a high-speed input module? No. The standard IQ16 specifies 8 ms input delay for both ON and OFF transitions. Applications requiring high-speed input response should be evaluated against the IQ16F or another suitable module. |
