1756-DHRIO is a single-slot ControlLogix® module that gives you two independent, software-selectable channels—each can be DH+ or Remote I/O—so you can keep legacy PLC-5/SLC racks and newer Logix controllers on the same network without extra gateways; it auto-bauds up to 230 kbit/s, handles 32 nodes per DH+ channel or 32 logical racks per RIO channel, and draws only 850 mA @ 5 VDC, so it drops straight into any 1756 chassis and starts passing data immediately after a simple RSLogix 5000 drag-and-drop configuration.

♦Migrate PLC-5/SLC lines to ControlLogix while keeping existing DH+ drives, HMIs and barcode scanners—no rewiring needed.

♦Use one channel as a Remote I/O scanner for 1771 or 1794 I/O racks and the other as DH+ for older PanelView terminals, cutting spare-parts inventory.

♦Build a “data highway bridge” between two ControlLogix racks on different DH+ segments, letting them share tags and diagnostics without Ethernet hardware.
