Description

The Allen-Bradley 1756-CN2R is a ControlLogix redundant ControlNet communication module that adds two BNC ControlNet ports to any 1756 chassis. It gives you 5 Mbps deterministic data exchange, up to 128 Logix and 131 total connections, and full cable redundancy—so if one trunk is cut the network heals itself in milliseconds. Drop it in any slot, link it with standard RG-6 quad-shield coax, and you have a plug-and-play link between controllers, I/O, HMIs and drives without extra routing tables or switches.

*True media redundancy – dual BNC ports keep the ControlNet ring alive even if a cable or node fails; switch-over is transparent to the application.

*High connection count – 128 Logix + 131 total connections let one module service large systems with many controllers and remote I/O drops.

*Fast, tool-free replacement – single-slot module, same 5.1 V/24 V backplane power as every 1756 I/O card; swap takes <2 min with no configuration reload.

*Hardened for the plant floor – 0…60 °C, 2 g vibration, 30 g shock, 500 V isolation; UL/CSA Class I Div 2 and CE marked so it lives beside motors and drives.
