The Allen-Bradley 1746-IO8 SLC 500 digital input/output combination module is a combination input/output module that can be installed in any slot of the 1746 I/O chassis (except slot 0). Each module has four 120V AC inputs and four relay contact outputs, with four contacts on each common terminal. Its operating voltage range (85-132V AC) is similar to most SLC 500 combination I/O modules, with output ratings of 5-65V AC and 5-125V DC at a frequency of 47-53Hz. At 5V DC, its backplane current is 0.03A; at 24V DC, its backplane current is 0.025A. The heat dissipation for all input contacts is 0.27W, and for each output contact, it is 0.133W. The module has a total heat dissipation of 3W, and the signal delay times for the ON and OFF states of the input and output are 35ms and 45ms, respectively.
The relay contact outputs are normally open (N.O.) contacts, with a rated continuous current of 1.5A per contact at 120V AC and 1.2A per contact at 24V DC. The 1746-IO8 has a factory operating temperature range of 0 to 60 °C (32 to 140 °F) and a relative humidity range of 5% to 95%; its specified non-operating temperature range is -40 to 85 °C (-40 to 185 °F). The module has a 30G shock rating and has been tested to withstand a maximum operating vibration of 2.5G at frequencies of 57-200Hz. It has obtained CE, CSA and C-UL certifications and meets the noise immunity level of NEMA standard ICS 2-230.
