| What network function does FMBT-21 provide? It allows a compatible ABB drive to exchange control, status, setpoint and diagnostic data over Modbus TCP. |
Why are there two RJ-45 ports? The integrated switch supports a direct chain between devices as well as conventional star wiring. |
| Can both Ethernet sockets be used as separate networks? No. They belong to the same adapter switch and are intended for the same network segment. |
Is an external power supply required? No separate field supply is used for the adapter; power is provided through the drive option slot. |
| Can FENA-21 or FEIP-21 be installed without checking? No. Protocol, firmware, host-drive support and parameter behavior must match the application. |
What must be checked before installation? Confirm drive family, option-slot support, product ID, firmware needs, IP plan and cable topology. |
| What do the LEDs help diagnose? They show host, module and network states, helping separate drive-side and Ethernet-side issues. |
What should be done after replacement? Set the network parameters, verify drive fieldbus settings, test commands safely and confirm loss-of-communication behavior. |
