Woodward 8440-2085 is an easYgen-3500XT controller in Package P1, designed for complex generator paralleling and power-management applications. The easYgen-3500XT platform is built for power-generation topologies where multiple generator sets, breakers and utility interfaces have to operate as one coordinated system.

For P1 applications, the controller combines generator control, synchronization, breaker management, load sharing and communication functions while retaining configurable logic for application-specific control requirements.

Generator & mains synchronization

The controller supports generator circuit-breaker and mains circuit-breaker synchronization using slip-frequency and phase-matching functions.

Peer-to-peer coordination

Load sharing and device-to-device communication can be carried through CAN, Ethernet or hot-redundant communication arrangements.

Engine + generator + mains

Protection functions include generator voltage/frequency monitoring, overload and reverse-power related protection, synchronization checking, unbalanced-load and overcurrent protection, engine speed protection, and mains monitoring.
