Where 8440-2080 Becomes Important
The 8440-2080 is suited to generator-set control systems where the controller must monitor generator electrical values and coordinate engine operation with breaker and load-management functions. The easYgen-2300 family supports single gensets operating in parallel with the mains as well as multiple gensets operating in island parallel mode. During maintenance or troubleshooting, this model becomes relevant when a genset cannot complete a normal start sequence, cannot synchronize correctly, shows abnormal generator protection behavior, loses expected load-sharing behavior, or cannot operate the breaker sequence as intended. Flexible Connection Layer

The P1 controller configuration provides configurable digital and analog I/O for generator-set control tasks. The 8440-2080 has eight configurable digital inputs, six configurable digital outputs and three configurable analog inputs. Communication is handled through a FlexCAN interface, while the service connection can be made through USB or RS-232 using the appropriate Woodward DPC cable. CANopen expansion can provide additional external digital I/O when the application requires it. |

The easYgen-2000 family contains the 2200, 2300 and 2500 controller levels. The 8440-2080 belongs specifically to the easYgen-2300 P1 configuration with 5 A current-transformer inputs. Within the 2300 family, 8440-2080 is the P1 5 A version, while 8440-2058 is the P2 5 A version.
