8440-2051 is a Woodward easYgen-3200 P2 genset controller that arrives ready to run one generator or parallel up to 32 units on a common bus.
It packs engine start/stop, true-RMS voltage/current sensing, auto synchronizing, kW/kVAr load sharing and full protection (over/under volts, frequency, current, reverse power) into a single 282 × 216 × 96 mm plastic housing with a colour LCD and soft-key menu, so you can commission a standby or prime-power set from the front panel without extra relays or PLCs.
Power is 12/24 Vdc (8-40 V range), accuracy 0.5 %, temp -20 °C to +70 °C, and the unit talks Modbus-RTU, CAN and Ethernet straight out of the box, which means it drops into SCADA, rental-fleet or utility-paralleling jobs with no option cards to buy.
★Application★
▸.Emergency standby panel – wire one 8440-2051 to the breaker, select “mains-fail start” and the set cranks, synchs and takes load in <15 s; no extra sync-check relay needed.
▸.Islanded micro-grid – chain up to 32 gensets on CAN bus; the controller shares kW and kVAr automatically and adds/shuts down engines to follow plant load, saving fuel and runtime hours.
▸.Rental fleet standard – the same part number works 50 Hz or 60 Hz, so OEMs keep one spare on the shelf for any site worldwide; front USB port lets a technician clone a full set-up in under a minute.
